need help ALTERING How little we know
im currently doing the unthinkable (morally just fnv playthrough), and i finally got around to doing How little we know for the first time, Yes Man told me to gain the trust of the omertas and naturally i thought unveiling a traitor would be the best way to do so, but the game has railroaded me into amassing supplies for mass murder and ive done too much other stuff after the fact to load a save, such is the price of ignoring your problems i suppose

tl;dr - is it possible to use commands to go back to this quest's stage 1 despite cachino being dead

maybe / kind of... it would be better to reload... a lot of these quests are cross-connected and you'll have to dive into the scripting to see all the variables that need setting,,,

for a standalone quest, you can normally back off things you've already done, with setobjectivedisplayed... undo the thing you just did with 0 to remove it, use 'setstage' to drop back to an earlier stage, but I wouldn't try to jump to the beginning, but "roll back" stages and do the corresponding action (like if you backed off the kill cachino don't forget to 'resurrect' him, etc.

but it's hit-or-miss on these cross connected ones, you might end up breaking it so it's not completeable in any way if you mess up or leave something out, because there's a lot to them.

even if the last save is 6 hours back? I'd reload if it matters to you.

so i decided to just sneak into the suites and kill Nero instead, getting the "inform yes man that the omertas are hostile to you" prompt, but it doesnt give me the option to tell him that.
do i have to kill every single omerta thug? killing nero makes big sal disappear from the game
yeah that's normal, you kill one, the other disappears... no I think once they're hostile to you, the only dialogue option you get is forget them, they're more trouble than blah blah blah... but with the even one of leaders dead it stops the omertas strip massacre if I remember correctly... I would just for good measure convince weapons boy Troike to make a run for it, or put him down, and that psycho Clanden has to go, for reasons... no bombmaker, no bomb. (you might not have to do it, but what the hell, killing bad people when you're roleplaying good, just feels right)
how little you know
