Mods for conquering wasteland or customizable player faction

As title says, are there any mods that let me conquer more of the wasteland or even that adds a new customizable player faction.

I usually choose Yes Man as I like leading my own faction and that's the closest I get so was wondering if mods could make it better.

Claim the Mojave is the only one I'm really aware of. Doesn't really give you your own custom player faction, but does let you control other factions in taking over the Mojave.

I've looked at that a little bit, I may be completely wrong but does it require me to own Fallout 3 and Fallout new vegas? I was reading about that TTW mod

Claim the Mojave has a TTW version, but does not require TTW.

To quote the first part of the mod description -

Includes a TTW addon to claim locations in the Capital Wasteland.

(emphasis mine).

You can use the base mod in plain New Vegas just fine.
