fame with the ncr

I need help here. I was idolized by the ncr and now all of a sudden it says I'm neutral, but they attack me on sight. I haven't done anything wrong against the ncr. What the hell is the problem?

My guess is that you either have accidently shot a couple of them or you are wearing another factions armor. If you go around in anything like Legion armor you will probably get shot at a lot. You may have to load an earlier save when you were still idolized

There are also a few quests like when Cortez wants you to shoot a Ranger that will definitely hurt your rep with the NCR.

that's the thing! I didn't kill any and I'm not wearing faction armor, I thought the same thing but they still attack me when I wear Benny's suit, power armor, or Joshua Graham's armor.

I can't say what you did to cause it then, but now it does seem that you will have to load an earlier save from before this happened.

I've played this game for almost 800 hours over the years and that kind of thing doesn't happen for no reason. I have made very small bad choices that have caused me to get the rep of being a "Good Natured Scoundral" and it doesn't take much for that to happen.

ron brings up a good point, if you nuked NCR they will be pissed. If you have not then, either load an earier save or maybe try to wear some NCR faction armor and do some quests to get enough rep with NCR to where you can unequip the armor and they won't attack.

Almost forgot, if your rep is to low, I think there is a point of no return. You can use a console command (addreputation f43de 1 30) to get back to idolized, but I think that command (Not sure) locks achievments.

Have you been doing the House always wins quests? Those will cause you to lose rep with the NCR.

You said that you were wearing Power armor? Was it Brotherhood of Steel power armor, because I'm pretty sure the Brotherhood armor disguises you as the brotherhood and they don't get along well with the NCR.

I've had this happen before too except with the Powder Gangers who I was idolized with at one point and now have suddenly become a "Good Natured Rascal". I was also Vilified by the NCR and now I'm 'Wild Child", yet I didn't do any quests or anything to get the reputation. I've been doing all Caesar's Legion quests, so if anything I should still be vilified.

Pretty sure if you are in the same boat as me, its a glitch.

I have faced this problem, sometimes faction armor leaves it's effect even if you are'nt wearing it anymore, solve this by putting back on some of that faction armor, and taking it off, not replacing it, taking it off. So, if you can't remember the armor, just spawn in every factions armor , put them on one by one, and take them off before putting on another armor.

I had this problem after using one brotherhood armor, and putting something else on.
But spawning all faction armor would suck, so try to remember the faction witch armor you have used.

According to the wiki, there's a bug connected with the Great Khans Encampment: "It is possible that loading a save from this location may cause many of your reputations to disappear from the Pip-Boy list, and making the affected factions hostile. This may have been caused by a faction armor related glitch, or by Quarry Junction."

I don't know if you've been there or not, but it could be that your save is affected by it or something similar.
