Can't change graphics settings.
Basically, no matter what I do, I can't change my graphics settings.
I have: FONV (obviously) NVSE TTW FNV4GB
and other random mods that don't affect it, but list anyways: http://i.imgur.com/UISqxe1.png

Since the little window doesn't pop up when I run NVSE or 4GB, I have to run it through steam. I then open the options and will change my graphics, ranging from low to ultra high just to see if anything happens. I'll even change the resolution to fix it. Nothing. I save it, press play. Textures are still exactly the same.

Sorry, copy pasted from my reddit post. Iif you know how to fix it, that would be great. Thanks.

gotta be one of your mods that's causing it. i still have a settings option with NVSE and 4GB and tons of mods. (no TTW)

wierd. i looked at your mods. i don't see anything that looks like it might be causing it. when did you first notice that you had no settings? you didn't launch the game with all that stuff, did you?

I can only get the settings option when I open it through steam. Opening it through NVSE on NMM immediately launches the game, same with the 4GB.exe

@2nd post:
I never noticed it until I was interested in changing my graphical settings because I felt I could up it and my computer would handle it. What do you mean by "you didn't launch the game with all that stuff, did you?"? Not sure what the question is asking.

to change your graphics settings, you launch the game and in the options menu, select settings. so it's perfectly fine that NVSE launches it.
i was wondering if you had ever launched vanilla before adding all the mods. moot point now. it just appears you didn't notice that there's a graphics option in the in-game settings menu.

I'm in game and I can't change resolution and the detail. Whenever I open the game from steam, THEN I get the window to that opens that has the play button to launch it, not from NVSE or 4GB. Whenever I change the resolution and texture detail in this window and press save and launch, it doesn't apply it. I still have low-res textures.

so, are you telling me there is no "settings" tab in the main menu if you launch from NVSE?

When I launch from NVSE it goes through the pictures of obsidian, bethesda, music starts playing, title screen, etc, That's the only options I have. The same ones you get when in game. I can ONLY get the settings to change resolution and detail when I open from steam.

OK, first the OP is correct, when you launch with NMM/NVSE you only get the main menu settings option which only has the fade distance settings. You do have to launch from Steam to get the "Options" menu to set Resolution, toggle V-sync, AA and the rest. It's something most of us don't even think about anymore, because we maxed those settings when we started playing the game.

Second, when you start from Steam and set your graphics from the "Options" menu, those graphics settings stay the way you set them even when you launch with NMM/NVSE.

Third, There is a limit to how good you can get the graphics to look without mods to enhance them. The differences of low ingame settings and high ingame settings ain't all that much. So thats why you are not seeing huge improvements when you max the ingame graphics settings. To get the game to look any better you will need mods for that. That is assuming that you have set all your Graphics card settings as high as will work with this game and have it set to override the application settings.

thanks for clearing that up, ron42.
O.P. since you already are set up for mods, get the NV configator. (yes, i know it's spelled wrong) it'll give you a list of graphics options that you can adjust everything, including resolution. it also lets you tweak stuff you usually have to edit .ini files to change. i use it on fallout 3 and new vegas. i love it.
