Educated Perk

Is anyone else apart from me not getting the extra two points per level the Educated perk promised?

i could be spending my time on better perks like jury-rigging, pack-rat, weapon handaling and comprihention (i think it's spelled?) than a measaly few more skill points, and with my load out every thing is 80-90 and over by Lv50. and all i need for the left overs is a magazine (with comprihention that doulbles the magnitude to 20+ skill) which filles it up.

so no i do not use the Educated perk.

I usually take the Educated perk and start maxing out my skills by lvl 30, for what that's worth. If I was being ripped off on the extra points, I didn't notice. My guess would be no, given what Divine just wrote though.

I recieve two extra points the next time I level up and non after that. This perk had the same damn problem back in Fallout 3 only gives you two extra points after you level up after getting the perk.

This is the formula for skill points: Int/2 + 10. So if your Intelligence is 8, you get 8/2 +10 = 14. The Educated perk gives you an extra 2 points, so the formula becomes Int/2 + 10 + 2 or 8/2 + 10 + 2 = 16. When you have an Int that is an odd number, it holds over the remaining half a point and adds it the next time you level up.

Therefore, if Int = 9, when you level up you get 14 for one level and 15 for the next without Educated, or 16 for one level and 17 for the next with the Educated perk.

The best way to check is post your character's Int, whether or not you have taken Educated and how many skill points you get when you level up.
