fallout new vegas stops running

: yes hello i am new on this site and i recently bought fallout nv today. downloaded and installed it and when i run the launcher it goes to the main menu where u can choose to play the game and i press play but then it shuts down the application like there is no error messages or anything. its like i hit exit exept i hit play.

any help or advice would be appreciated i am running windows 7 professional with amd sempron(tm)145 processor 2.80 GHz ram is 2.00 gb my system type is a 32-bit operating system

ok so i just tried to go into the steam apps where my game files are located and i tried to open the falloutNV application but not the launcher. and it comes up with falloutNV.exe-bad image... C:windows\system32\XINPUT1_3.dll is either not designed to run on windows or it contains an error. try reinstalling the program again using the original installation media or contact your system administrator or the software vendor for support?????? i already tried to reinstall it and i am the administrator.. please heellppp

update.. so i look over th web and i found that the steam_api.dll needed to be installed again so i put it in c:local disk:/windows/system 32 i hope thats the right place. but then i try to run the game and this comes up...falloutnvlauncher.exe entry point not found steamremotestorage could not be located in the dynamic link library steam_api.dll.
