Stuck at Nipton

When I get passed rescuing the Deputy and I start walking to Nipton, I no longer see that guy Oliver Swanick run towards me claiming he won the lottery and when I approach the legionaires they don't talk to me or do anything causing me to be stuck at the same part spot. Does anyone know about this issue/bug and can someone suggest a fix. resetstatge and setstage only seem to caue issues down the road.

You probably entered the city from the wrong direction. If you do, sometimes, Vulpes won't talk to you, and more commonly, the powder gangers that are normally crucified will be missing.

You can just gun the legion guys down, or ignore them.

nah I entered the city from the same way I always do; on the path from the ncr outpost. it hasn't changed. but one thing that has changed is that another thing that failed to happen was the couple who start shooting each other over the blue star cap.

I am going to try reinstalling it, and before reinstalling delete everything from possible mods to old saves.

You can just keep walking on to Vegas... It's freedom! No need to follow magic arrows, quest will pickup right where you meet it again.

I actually had a similar problem with trying to start Aba Daba Honeymoon on my current playthrough.

Go find a building with no one in it, like Victor's Shack. Use resetstage to where the quest marker updates...

Which might be why you're confused. The quest marker updates once you enter town. The Legion there is for other quests, not the main quest.

as previosuly mentioned i tried resetting and I tried setstage and they did not work. the quest markers did not update. but Dosbilliam you're right i did get the main and sedquest mixed-up. having re-installed the game worked this time because I took the mods off. Im not sure which one or which combo prevented me from doing certain quests cause I had an issue with the gamorrah quest. So thanks guys for helping, I should have known I left mods on that screwed with the game.

This event is not vital to the quest that's why setstage doesn't work. Just ignore them and walk to novac.

I have exactly the same bug...And it´s not realy helpful just to ignore bugs and to go to the next city. Some guys likes the story or just want no bugs...

A bit late but, I found the problem...uncheck the mods UnlimitedCompanions.esp and UnlimitedCompanionsFixed.esp.

no worries lol. I've figured that part out a long time ago. I was running one mod too many and have since stopped running so many.

Hey, this was a while ago, but essentially I removed all my mods and proceeded and then reinstated them. I think it was an armor mod with stealth ability and another that was causing the issue, but I ran so many I can't recall. I advise you do the same and temporarily remove your mods and proceed. are you using a mod manager? might help intergrate them better.
