But... it's on the store page.

Hard Disk Space: 10GB free space

And it fits with the disk usage when I view the game's properties, too.

Were you looking for some other number?

megs not gigs
that's a lot of memory...
FnXPepper Jun 27, 2015 @ 2:50pm
how about just google how much 10 gigs is to megs.
Ladez Jun 27, 2015 @ 2:53pm
10GB ≈ 10,000MB

Is that the right number?
tehdrucifer Jun 27, 2015 @ 2:55pm
When I look at properties of the New Vegas folder in my steam folder it says 9.41gb. Keep in mind I changed the song files, so your mileage may vary

multiple the number of gigs x1000 for megs

Well, since there are 1024 Mb in 1 Gb...10 Gb would be 10240 Mb.

Actual disk usage will vary depending on mods you have installed, DLC content you have installed, and save game usage. It says 10 on the store page because that's a good round number, and before you start pumping mods in it should stay a bit under that, allowing space for saves.

1 GB = 1,024 MB = 1,048,576 KB
10 GB = 10,240 MB = 10,485,760 KB
6.9 GB = 7,065.5 MB = 732,5174.4 KB

Hope that cleared up any issues

If you're asking about RAM, my quick check shows 449MB. The number will vary depending on what is happening in the game (more stuff requires more RAM), graphics settings and any mods you have installed so the question's bordering on pointless, but at least you have an answer.

If you people want to get technical, there are two definitions.

Base 10 definition: 10 GB = 10,000 MB

Base 2 definition: 10 GiB = 10,240 MiB

Microsoft Windows uses the base 2 definition and (wrongly) calls it GB instead of GiB, leading to confusion amongst consumers as to why a a 160 GB harddrive shows up as having a capacity of 149 GB.

All that aside, the requirements on the store page specify 10 GB, because that's a little more than the total amount of space used by the Ultimate Edition (9,448 MB, according to my game properties,) leaving a few hundred MBs for good measure.

Now -that- should clear things up.

Don't forget the 200+ MB it takes for your saves in the documents. Everyone else has given you the other answer. That is unless you are modding then well you'll have to figure that out for yourself

I don't understand. Why do you need the number cited in megabytes? Why isn't gigabytes good enough? Can't you do the conversion yourself? Should I also cite the game's price in cents?

It's currently 1495 euro cents for me. I purchased it for 700 american cents.

My install folder is 9,925,901,284 bytes.

Does this answer your questions?
