.44 Magnum kinda sucks
The .44 Magnum has much higher recoil and is less accurate compared to the Fallout 3 version. Even with VATS, a gun skill of around 70, and a level of 22, I can't hit anything with it.

I personally feel this way about the .357 Magnum. It's personal preference, I guess.

Min strength of 5. Are you lower than that? Would explain it.

Sorry for the late reply. I did a check and mine was at 8.

Get the trail carbine + scope which uses the same ammo + cowboy perk + a few other perks and make .44 swc for it and you will be doing good damage. Theres also a scope for the .44 revolver.

Pistols. Pffff.

Go rifle or bigger or go home.

Yeah, sorta. Rifles are generally more accurate. Wouldn't use an SMG unless my enemy was a barn. 3 feet from me. or I didn't mind wasting 3 clips of ammo where only 1 clip reaches the target.

Haven't tried the .44 I used the mysterious magnum. it breaks very rapidly. otherwise fine. Sights might be off on the regular .44 dunno.

I'd suggest a light shining in the darkness for a pistol. which takes .45 its just better

Perhaps you are expecting too much from a pistol, like trying to hit a target from range.... its a pistol not a rifle. its not really accurate enough for anything distant, you use your pistols in close quarters.

The .44 magnum is kind of bad, yes. Lucky is a crit monster that takes a more common round (though both .44 and .357 have amazing hand loader varieties). Other favorites for me are That Gun, the 12.7mm pistols and of course ALSID, which is so light-weight and useful that I always carry it around.

Of course, if we're also counting energy pistols, the MF Hyperbreeder Alpha is probably the top pistol in the entire game once you've got all the relevant perks. It crits like crazy and doesn't even need ammo.

Okay guys, I did many tests and recorded them and for some reason, it's mostly VATS that sucks. Even at close range, VATS does a horrible job at accurately shooting a target in NV.

I plan to upload a new vid, to see that I did improve with the .44 magnum.
