How to get to Novac safely?

The only route I can find is the route with the scorpions.. the normal scorpions are one shot, one kill with the revolver.. but the big scorpions are a pain in the ass

Well as a last resort you get really pissed off. Press ~ then type movetoqt then press enter. Now you will teleport to the objective. If you get stuck in a wall when you teleport type tcl or tlc
I forgot which one. THIS BREAKS SOME QUESTS. Save then restart game so achievements are activated again.

go from Primm to the NCR base with the 2 statues, then to Nipton and after that go to Novac. Follow the road.

Since others have given you the safer way to go, I give you this advice; You want safe, buy a Anti-Materiel rifle with plenty of 50 cal rounds and a Fatman with 20 or 30 mini nukes and the wasteland is yours. It also helps to have a 12.7mm smg for when you have to get up close and personal with your target. :)

If you are following the main quest its a pretty linear path, you get guided along the way there via various pit stops in places on the route, if you just follow the main road you get there pretty safe, not much threats on the roads. If you've just sort of gone off in a random direction though try to get back to a road, and you will get there eventually. Dangerous stuff out in the open... having said that though I think I know where you are on about, are you near the NCR Mojave Outpost? With the statues on the top of the hill? I recall there being big scorpions there too, jump up on one of the cars or rocks to avoid taking some damage if you have trouble evading them.

I try to jump on the rocks but there the game doesn't let me go anywhere.
