Changing default ammo type?

I've made enough money to be able to use the better types of ammo. So I threw out all of the regular ammo. The standard ammo is usually the default, but because I don't have standard ammo the default changes (usually to HP). How can I make the default something else (like M or JHP)?

I don't think you can. The default ammo is always the lowest damage ammo you have. Don't know why you would dump any ammo. You will almost always need all the ammo you have, especially when doing the DLC's. In OWB alone I usually use a variety of weapons and ammo. Before I'm done with OWB I use up to 20,000 total rounds[CZ avenger, mini gun and the light machine gun are ammo hogs!]
