Does anyone actually fight unarmed?
I can't imagine that anyone would ever want to fight with their fists/gloves.

Do you mean completely unarmed? Or using Unarmed Skill weapons?

completely unarmed

In that case, there's probably a few crazies out there. If I used Unarmed, I'm packing a Ballistic Fist.

I love using Spiked knuckles (like "Love & Hate"), especially when playing Hardcore (where each bullet got some weight). They're incredibly powerful.

My next run *might* be completely unarmed, but it should also be rather easy after getting a few levels (Deathclaws might be more threatening).

I got Pushy and gave it to Veronica. She's been one-shotting all but the toughest enemies since then. So...yeah, unarmed is pretty cool if you have enough points in there. Dangerous, though, you'll need good armor to compensate.

Unarmed is pretty good, the main problem with it is damage which can only be increased by perks, VATS & weapons(gloves/powerfist).
I don't think the skill increases damage
It also counts as a one armed weapon so dosen't work so well with superslam
Hopefully in FO4 they make strength its base attribute and make its damage work similar to melee weapons, they should also change its name to "Fistikuffs"

Yeah, it's kind of silly that strength doesn't factor into unarmed.

I believe it does, actually.

If I remember correctly, you can even go above 100 in the unarmed skill (using skill books and stat boosts after it is already at 100), although the game will not display more than 100.

The damage bonuses for both unarmed and melee are pitiful though. It's not really any kind of problem as it's all about the weapon. There are a some really good ones, but I generally prefer the melee weapons.

I don't see any damage bonus from skill in the link provided

If you're playing Project Nevada with the Cyberware thing enabled, you can get a killer implant to significantly boost unarmed damage.

The Razor Nails implant, which when fully upgraded (can be done by the player) grants +70% Damage and +70% Critical Chance with unarmed attacks. Not sure if it just applies to unarmed skill weapons, like the Power Fists, but it makes the regular punching attacks nothing short of deadly.

Of course, this is a total conversion mod for FNV and is not normal.
