That achievement worked fine for me. You didn't by any chance use a console command while in Zion, did you? Using the console will disable achievements for that one game session. After using it you have to exit the game and re-start it for achievements to work again.

Just pressing the console key disables achievs, or so I read.

I haven't used the console at all for this character and all achievements have worked fine up til now. Also, I was under the impression that using the console disabled achievements for that character forever, as in starting over with a new character. Otherwise, what's the point.

BTW, hitting the console key doesn't disable as far as I know, just using console commands; I hit the key by accident once or twice.

Weird, it's there now. I just went on, played out the end again, and it activated. Funny think is this the third time I closed down the game and loaded from scratch AND it gives the date of my achievement as when I first did it last night before I posted here but I know it wasn't registering when I turned in last night.

Pressing the console key is not enough to disable achievements. You have to actively type in a command and when the console recognizes that as a command THEN your achievements are disabled. Using the console commands only disables achievements until you next restart the game itself. For example.

1. Player starts a new game, uses the console to add 400 9mm rounds to their inventory. Achievements become disabled.

2. Player then saves, exits the game (all the way to the desktop) then restarts the game and loads their save. They now have 400 9mm rounds and can earn achievements like normal.

The system is a little broken, but you have to remember the console was installed mainly for debug purposes, it was not intially intended for cheating, that is just a side effect of it being a debug unit. That is why you cannot type "Add 400 9mm rounds" and have it work, you have to have specific item IDs and such.
