Any place for farming medium(and heavy) armors?
So, I've got jury rigging, and so far I've been spending 2000 or so caps to get a piece of armor from the Gun Runners whenever my combat armor gets low on condition. Does anybody know where I can easily get(like buying cheap types or finding on enemies) medium and heavy armor?

Also, while not particularly related to the topic, does anyone know what main quests you can complete without going on that route? Sorry if my wording is hard to understand here, I mean like, if I do The House Always Wins I am I unable to do the NCR quests?

Legion assassin squads.

Any and all NCR military. 95% of them wear medium armor.

For heavy armor, the most reliable source is Blake and the gun runners. They both stock metal armor, which is the only non-power armor that's actually a heavy armor.

The answer to the second part of your question is you will get a notice that will warn you that if you keep helping House/NCR/Legion/Yes Man you will no longer be able to do the quests for the other factions. Here's the wiki page for "Don't Tread on the Bear"; http://fallout.wikia.com/wiki/Don%27t_Tread_on_the_Bear!

sneak kill unnammed NCR guards. Loot their armor.

Go to Mojave Outpost and get them repaired there, 100% repair. Don't let them get too degraded or it can be expensive.

Why would you pay to repair something when you can find literally any other item in the same category and use that instead, probably for cheaper?
