Open console.

Use console command to change FOV

Close console

he might need a few more details?

The console is the ~ key, it does not show a cursor on my machine.
I don't know that command, though...
Can you not do it from the .ini files as well? Doing it from console would require one to change it every time you load, no?

That is correct. Open the file Fallout_default.ini in the game's installation directory and find this line:
fDefaultFOV=75.0000
Change the number to your desired FOV.

Changing it from ini files never seemed to have worked for me, maybe you need a new game and not a pre-existing character. Or maybe I've been derping and been doing it wrong.

If you edit the .ini files in your documents folder and use the default game launcher afterwards, those files will be overwritten with the default settings. That's why I recommend setting it in the Fallout_default.ini file in the game's installation directory. Makes the changes stick.

Thank you. I figured it out.

Okay, just tried myself and wasn't actually able to get the fov to change from editing any of the files. I'm sure I've done so before.

I've tried changing only one, the one in "my games" then in FNV's folder and vise versa. I'm not sure if it may be a mod that's suppose to eliminate glitches or NVSE, 4GB patch, or fake fullscreen.

I don't know that command, though...

More details are in teh wiki in the section 'console commands' or in the half dozen tweak guides that are on the internet.

Yea, but simplest way.

editing the .ini requires you to add a line - the FOV variables already in the .ini do not stick either.

". . . inserting the line fDefaultWorldFOV=75.0 at the bottom of the Display section of the Fallout.ini . . ."

http://www.tweakguides.com/Fallout3_8.html

Same thing in New Vegas.

It's easier and less finicky to use http://www.nexusmods.com/newvegas/mods/40442/? instead. :D

Setting my FOV in the .ini file does not work. I do not know what I am doing wrong.
