Does this game have vaults to explore?
I have heard that the Fallout games have vaults to explore but so far (about 2 hours) i have not found a single vault.

There are six vaults in the Mojave. One is mostly filled in with concrete and used as a hotel on the Strip but the rest are explorable out in the wastes. Note that they're mostly abandoned ruins with the exception of Vault 3 which is used as a base by the Fiends. People haven't lived in vaults for about 150 years.

Well you've just played for 2 hours. This game isnt like other new game that you can finish in 10hour or less. Took mee 40hour in game to complete whole game +dlc (roam every place etc)

vaults are secret if you just could go explore and find them, then its not a good hideout

also try understand there are so call people that try loot them places if they can find them

alot of fiends have kill the vaults dweller's so now it make perfect sense why you cant find any.

in this game you will learn about khan's and maybe respect them some more they have gone through alot. if you read the lore. but its a game choise who and what path you will walk and keep as friends

If you're really hyping yourself up for vault exploration, you're going to be disappointed. Just enjoy the game and only bother with the vaults when the plot/quests require it.

.....because you only played for 2 hours

There's back-stories for every single Vault in New Vegas, and all of them are good.Shut your mouth, and let him get hyped.
They have good stories if you're willing to put the time/effort into appreciating them, but if you're just looking for a dungeon crawl (as I suspect OP is) they're kind of boring in that regard.

Hype is for idiots. Better to assume something is terrible and be impressed than it is to, well... http://zeropunctuation.wikia.com/wiki/The_Second_Annual_E3_Hype_Massacre?file=E3_2_1.png

That's not as meaningful as you think. I can leave Doc Mitchell's and be at a Gun Runners stall.

It's not to hard to figure out the story of a vault...It's all right there, you just have to piece it together.

Also,if you're playing Fallout New Vegas for pure Dungeon crawling, you're playing the wrong game.
You don't have to tell me that. I like the vaults in this game for what they are, but someone who's rushing to the vaults because they think they're the best part of the game is going to be disappointed.

It actually took me 50 hours with only the base game. I'd love to see how long it would take with all the DLC.

But to answer your question, OP: Yes, there are plenty of vaults for you to explore and they all have their own unique backstories. You'll leave each vault feeling as though you've discovered a whole new universe that only you know about. I'm not going to spoil any of them for you, though.

Hooray for Vault 22! All the rest can go to hell!

- with thanks and apologies to Mel Brooks and Carl Reiner

Yep. There is! But...only 6.
You'll run into them within maybe hour 10-20.

Isn't Vault 22 the one with the plant people? God, I loved that one. I actually got stuck for a while because I couldn't find the keycard. Then I stopped for a moment, took note of my surroundings, and decided that the most logical thing to do would be to see what's going on in here to find out why that door would be locked in the first place.

That was when the game truly hit me with how brilliant the story telling is.

There are several Vaults in New Vegas:
3 is in west Vegas, in the South Vegas Ruins.
11 is in a cave on the north shore of the El Dorado Dry Lake.
19 is to the southwest of Vegas, with the entrence being a manhole in a parking lot off of Highway 160.
21 is on the south end of the Strip, though it's been converted into a hotel and mostly filled with concrete, so it may not be good for exploring.
22 is in the hills west of Vegas, almost a straight walk from Westside's West Gate.
34 is in the hills east of Vegas, northeast of Cannibal Johnson's Cave, and north of Camp Golf.

Yes, lots of them with amazing stories behind them. Most of them are optional, you need to explore the map and find them.
