JSP hand load:
Damage x 1.3 (increases damage by a multiplier of 1.3)
Condition x 1.5 (increases degradation of weapon which is using the ammunition)

Target DT -2 (so, a target with 10 DT, will be calculated as an 8 DT).
In general:
Standard ammo is the baseline.
AP penetrates DT, which is essentially an armor rating.
HP does bonus damage to soft targets.
As shown above, some ammo types combine varied effects of HP and AP, like "+P"
DT ratings vary, so use a calculator and figure out which ammo is best at the time.
