Repair costs are ♥♥♥♥ing ridiculous
2000 caps to reapir armor that's barely damaged?
10000 to repair a tesla cannon at half condition?
3000 to repair a barely damaged plasma rifle?
There are not enough of these armor/weapons to be able to maintain yours around, even with jury rigging.
Also i'll add that i have barter maxed out

increase repair when you do find these armors and weapons
tesla cannon, i only know of like, the unique one at the vertibird.
plasma rifles are found pretty commonly imo
armor, depends really.
and if this is Major Knight at the Mojave Outpost, well it is 100% full repair.

you can always install a mod that'll reduce the prices.

Only people i've ever seen using plasma rifles are the van graff guards
I use basic combat armor, and repairing just a sliver of damage costs 1000 caps

Jury Rig. Greatest perk ever.

Well what did you expect... Unique armour and weapons are pretty expensive to repair... :') That's why the Jury Rigging perk is good, and lots of weapon repair kits (don't know why everyone refuses to even notice them)
pike Nov 7, 2015 @ 12:58pm
learn how to make repair kits , and get your repair skill up really high .
things will break slower and it will be free to fix them
ghpstage Nov 7, 2015 @ 1:08pm
Another vote for weapon repair kits. They are made from quite common materials (best to stockpile them at your 'home'), and you can get 55 of them every 3 days after completing the Dead Money DLC.

Very early in Lonesome Road you get an upgrade that allows ED-E to carry out a free daily reapir on your active weapon.

Jury rigging allows for extremely cheap repairs, your combat armours being repairable by standard NCR armours, your brush guns and anti materials by varmint rifles, BB guns and single shotguns, your 12.7mm or .45 auto SMGs snipers LMGs and others by the lowly service rifle. Its convenient, extremely cheap and awesome for making more money, especially when combined with repair kits.

Also, plasma rifles are fairly commonly used by fiends.

A few things, like the Tesla Cannon an SMMG have very, very limited, or no repair alternatives, even with jury rigging, but weapon repair kits solve this easily.

Most game-breaking perk ever as well. I can buy a full-condition Single Shotgun from the Gun Runners for less than 200 caps, then use it to repair Milennia's A Really Terrible Shotgun which sells for almost 6,000 caps. :P

How exactly does this work?
Vassago Rain Nov 7, 2015 @ 1:52pm
It's trivial to have infinite money, max condition, and 2000 healing items in this game.

No one actually pays for repair.

Assuming you have a Luck higher than 7, if you make something like 7500 chips in the actual casino, you get a voucher right away that can be redeemed for 1,000 chips, and one gets sent along with the chips every three days.

^this is the truth I had never payed a person to ever fix any of my equipment even when I played without jury rigging for most items you find in the game are common and of course tons of weapon repair kits.

The effect simply says "turbo"...not very helpful

It gives you a non-addictive Turbo implant; it can be used 5 times a day and works for 2 seconds. Normal Turbo works like Rank 2 of the perk without any additional perks like Fast Times, which you get from using Turbo 20 times.

Turbo itself is basically a really addictive bullet time effect.
