Fallout New Vegas - Game Cache

My game keeps crashing, I keep doing the steps below and its says 1 item did not validate and tells me it will be gotten again, yet it never gets the file. I keep running it over and over and it tells me the same thing. What do I do to get the file that did not validate?

Right click the game in your Steam Library.
Go to Properties then the Local Files tab.
Click Verify Integrity of Game Cache.
Wait for it to complete.

With this game it will always say one file failed to load, that's normal.

I suggest reading the pinned thread on stability mods.

Edit; If you have Win 10 there are issues getting the game to run. Use the search function for Win 10 problems.
