Camp McCarran kitchen quests question

-So, fixed the processor
-Got deals for meal and spices from grub, traders, and Primm “all”
-Got the food additive from the vault and talked to the goul regarding William Farber asking about moral improvement with food.
- turned in additive to William Farber


Despite this, no notifications no change in his available inventory. This bugged? I’m aware of the processor getting bugged, resulting in the food additive being stuck in your inventory but this wasn’t the case for me. Just…..nothing to show for all the legging, no new items or dialogue

I believe that's just all there is to them. They give a little NCR fame and a discount on food there, iirc. It's a little underwhelming, but most unmarked quests are like that.

That's all there is to it. Each thing you do for him increases the discount value VFreeformMcCarran.iMessHallDiscount
it is kinda worthless considering he only sells Pork N' Beans, Fresh Carrot, Fresh Potato, Maize, Purified Water.

He's very useful if you're playing on hardcore and don't want to max out survival for whatever reason.

while the discount is not the best given his inventory the fame alone is worth doing the quest

This is one of the few quests that I've done once and will never touch again, even on Hardcore where food and water is actually useful. It's easy enough to get to Idolized with NCR through other more lucrative and efficient means and there's never a shortage of sustenance no matter what point in the game you're at.

If I have a character that maxes out Repair, I'll fix the generator with a skill check if I even remember to do so. Even for an unmarked quest, it's extremely underwhelming.
