Fat man ammo

how do you get ammo for the fat man mini nuke launcher, im curious sinse i just bought it from the Boomers:), any help would be appreciated

The ammo is the mini-nukes you find on your journeys. That weapon is very powerful and generally you only need a couple nukes. It's best used at the end of the game to soften that last boss character. Also you find a couple in Lonsome Road for some of the difficult spots too.

Search your local Gun stores, around the area, they carry 1 to 3 of each type of Ammo typically usually past level 15+ or 20+ around 4000 Caps for all of them, or so. But wait a few in game days and the vendors will replenish.

1. In the vanilla game without the Gun Runners Arsenal addon pack there are only 8 mini nukes that you will find in the wasteland. There are none for sale. Plus there are 3 at the Boomers munitions hanger you can steal. Out behind the Nellis hangers there are some tents setup. At night one of the female Boomers that sleeps in one of the tents has a mini nuke on her that you can steal while she sleeps if your sneak skill is high enough. As long as you get that mini nuke without waking her up, you can steal another one from her every three game nights.

2. If you get the Gun Runners Arsenal addon pack, the Gun Runners sell mini nukes and so do the traveling merchants. Their inventories restock every 7 days.

3. If you get the house mod; "Underground Hideout New Vegas", it comes with a computer you can use to order ANY ammo thats in the game, including mini nukes. Then you wait two game days and your order will be in the Mojave Express mail box that comes with the hideout. The mini nukes cost 200 or 250 caps each, so have plenty of caps on you when ordering.

4. You can use the console and add as many mini nukes to your inventory as you want to. Be aware that using the console disables achievements for that one game session. After using the console, close out the game and restart it. Then achievements will work again.

5. Where are those 8 vanilla game mini nukes you ask. Explore and you will find them. :)

You walk straight up the road to the lodge and carry a 12.7mm smg or a 12 gauge shot gun with you. As long as you stay on the road[there are caves you may want to explore off road] there are only a very few of them to deal with. It may help to be crouched in sneak mode if you want to try and get past them without a fight, but you will still have a couple attack you.

Any gun will work as long as your gun skill is not too low. It's just that it is easier to kill them with some guns than it is with others. Always buy up as much ammo as you can for every weapon you use. You have to stock up as you go. You will use thousands of rounds before you finish the game. Gun Runners, The merchant in the shack at the back of McCarren airport and the Great Khans armory have the largest amount of ammo for sale at any one time.[they restock every 7 days] The Khans armory is in a hidden basement in the burned out building as you enter Red Rock canyon. You have to be on good terms with the Khans for them to sell to you.

Forgot one. Hardon in the Hoover dam offices also has large amounts of ammo for sale. You must be on good terms with the NCR and pass a speech check of 50 for him to sell to you. Once you buy what he has, there are cots in the next room from him. You can sleep for 7 days and he will have more ammo to buy.
