Actually you could keep on playing after finishing the main quest in Fallout 2 you even had a few lines acknowledging your victory over the Enclave (from Miss Kitty in New Reno and some message from the devs to be found in Vault City's computer).
As for using a controller with FNV I find it much more enjoyable because I can sit back and relax instead of being hunched over my keyboard. The shooting may be less accurate but that's not a big deal with a little practice (it's not like this game is a competitive FPS or remotely difficult even with mods and on the hardest difficulty).
As much as I like FNV I have to admit that the shooting is rather mediocre if you compare it to a good FPS.
Go into Fallout_default.ini in your game folder (right click it in your library, go into properties, then local files, and browse local files), and paste this under [Controls]:
Make sure you go into the .ini's properties and make it Read Only too, or else it won't work
I like the controller myself
I never understood why people complain "I can't keep playing after ending". It's called ENDING for a reason...
Movies have endings, books have endings television series have endings, video games have endings, that shouldn't be hard to grasp.
I'm with Two Bears on this one, continuing gameplay just cheapens the ending itself:
"You saved the world, great work! Now get off my lawn before I'll chase you off with a shotgun"
The mouse sensitivity is adjustable, as well as supporting controller inputs too. Have you tried checking your options? A little fine tuning and control adjustments make the difference from frustration to critical headshot.
Keyboard & Mouse are working fine for me...
Maybe next time you will give me the explosives Easy pete and you won't force me to blow off your limbs
