FALLOUT NEW VEGAS / Weird Beta Doc Mitchell's house in cave... THING??
Hi there! I'm using a brand new account because I'm genuinely so confused. I've been playing Fallout: New Vegas since I was about 15 or 16 years old with my younger brother. I've continued to play the game up until now; I got it on my computer because I wanted to use mods, one of which is the Doctor Who mod for Fallout: Who Vegas. I had just finished my second playthrough of the mod when something strange happened.
After completing the story, I used the random flight mode on the TARDIS (which basically chooses a random cell to teleport you to when leaving the ship). When it landed, I exited the ship and found myself in a location I didn't recognize. It looked exactly like Doc Mitchell's house from the beginning of the game, but things were missing. At first, I thought it might be a beta cell similar to Vault 74.
I explored around the house and looted a few things, then left, expecting to be somewhere in the Mojave Wasteland. I was wrong. When I tried to exit through the door labeled "Door to Outside," it put me into a cave where strange things were happening—things I've never seen in the game before, including something called blinking When I ventured a certain distance from the cave, it teleported me back in front of the house.
I quickly turned on my recording software and captured a video, which you can find here
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ntEaG09vEUI&t=228s
I've never seen anything like this before, and despite searching everywhere I know on the internet, I couldn't find any information. Finally, I came here hoping someone might know what this is or where it's from. Please let me know if you have any insights!
THIS IS NOT A TROLL OR A WAY TO GET VIEWS IM SO CONFUSED AND BEWILDERED AND DONT KNOW WHERE ELSE TO GO IM INCLUDING A SCREENSHOT FROM STEAM ASWELL!

Not familiar with those cells, and there's no console command to easily learn a cell's ID. However, if you have FNVEdit, you can do a little digging to find out the cell and from there could learn more about what that area is.

Just click on something with the console open and write down that item's ID. Looking up that ID in FNVEdit will tell you the item's location, and thus the cell's ID, which you can use to determine if this is a beta area or if it was added in a mod.

My guess? That's cell 0010245F, "AbandonedUsonianHome01" which would probably be a template cell used in early construction. It probably leads to a dead end cave just to give the door somewhere to lead to and from.

The house in the cave is NoVacHouse02, of which there are three placed instances in vanilla FNV: two in Novac and one in Nelson. None inside a cave.

The interior is a modified copy of either GSDocMitchellHouse, CraftsmanHomesInterior01 or OrionMorenoHouse. There are no other usages of the craftsman interior building kit with this layout. None of the three cells link to a cave.

So this is obviously a modded location.

One of two things is going on:
  • You stumbled on an easter egg or leftover content in the Dr. Who mod, or some other mod you're not mentioning.
  • You modded this location yourself, for the purposes of some urban legend or ARG, despite your claim to the contrary. :)

That makes sence about the Doc house but then my next question would be why does the cave have a modeled house, teleport/blinking system in it if it's just a dead end cave, I'll see what I can do w Fnvedit but I lack the knowledge needed about this stuff I'll lyk what I see!

When I first entered it gave me weeping angel vibes, w the blinking and telport, I knew I recognized the house exterior so that makes sence, it may have been a DW mod quest that went unsued and the random cell pull from the Tardis may have just been random (like landing in Vault 74)

I definitely didn't make this myself I wouldn't even know how, and I don't think it's any other mod since Who Vegas tardis doesn't recognize mod cells in its landing range (I assume cuz it hasn't happend b4) so it's eaiter from base game or tied to the mod but idk which, thanks for the insight and it's definitely not an ARG im not that good lol
