How the hell do console commands work?

I've been trying to spawn in the laser detonator using every code that i can but it never works. I've tried
player.additem 007670 1
setquestobject 007670 1
player.additem <007670><1>
but it doesn't spawn in? Just to mention, I'm using the Xbox app to get the New Vegas Ultimate edition through my computer.

On the wiki it says the FormID of the laser detonator is "xx007670". For DLC items, the first 2 digits are based on the DLC's location in your load order which is often different per person depending on if you have mods or not, so on the wiki it just shows it as xx. So for instance, Fallout New Vegas loads first so it should be 01, Honest Hearts is 02, etc. Most of the time, Lonesome Road is 04. So try

Player.additem 04007670 1

It's "xx007670 1", not "007670" where xx is the DLC/mod load order. It's a DLC item. Check your load order for the Form ID prefix[fallout.fandom.com].

Try add other items to your inventory with the command, does it work? E.g. try "player.additem 000CD53A 1" to get a Caravan Shotgun.

Have you enabled the console in the .ini file? When you hit the ` key to open the console in-game, the game will freeze and you'll see the window open to enter commands[fallout.fandom.com].

The Laser Detonator[fallout.fandom.com] is a DLC weapon, you must have the DLC installed and activated. On the FNV launcher, click data files and make sure Lonesome Road is activated.

Unrelated, but avoid the Xbox App versions of these games. I recommend just playing the normal Steam (best) version and installing the patches from Nexus, which are a requirement for a safe playthrough of these games anyway - you run the risk of losing your entire save otherwise.

Create a file ex. dothis.txt with commands:

Put it to game root folder.
In game open console and type: bat dothis.
