Must have mods?
Any mods I should get before starting New vegas? I have all fallout games, But decided to play this one as I heard its the best one? I completed 3 years ago on xbox and really enjoyed it, and I've heard 4 isn't the greatest so... but anyway, any mods I should consider for the best experience ?

I would stick with collection mods, then you don't have to worry about things like going over the load order limit

A few performance improvement and bugfixing mods can't hurt, as the game does have a reputation for being unstable.

technically you can do new vegas without any mods; crashing is annoying, but on a good PC it'll probably only happen once every one and a half hours? with some exceptions

anyways, some good performance mods would be NVSE, NVAC and Tickfix all aim to stop a majority of crashing and memory issues you'll eventually run across. there's also YUP which fixes a handful of bugs (some of which stop certain events from happening) and adds some small cut content,

some minor improvements would be B42 inject animated items (taking drugs/certain items will give you a lil animation) or the New Vegas animation overhaul which gives you better weapon animations. Brave New World improves some NPC looks and adds a bunch of actors so not every named NPC is voiced by one of four actors

if you want some lore friendly mods, check out New Vegas Bounties for ingame bounty huntin' quests, uncut wasteland for more wasteland activity. "survival at all costs" which adds some random handicapped NPCs

there's also the Weezer Mod :3c

I would also recommend this. It takes some time, but you get a super stable modded new vegas that's still true to the original game.

4gb patcher and fnv anti crash are manditory. B42 and its assosiated mods are great as are Just Assorted Mods. Other things like texture enhancements, lighting improvements, and mods that improve combat aspects like iron sight adjustments and movement mechanics are great for a more modern combat experience.

Just had to put down a vanilla Energy Weapons playthrough after clearing about 70% of side content due to the crashes the ash piles and goo puddles cause

So if that modlist has a fix for that, I think you should get it asap lol

Follow Viva new vegas guide. 40 hours in my current playthrough and 0 crashes

Vanilla textures may cause eye cancer
