As soon as you make a new save then it no longer relies on those mods, logically.

Yeah, go back to a save from before you installed the mods the first time around.

The moment you load mods into a save, they're there perm. Removing them doesn't actually remove them from the save. All the references to the mod will remain in the save file itself, and the game has no ability to remove it.
The save will break eventually... Only thing you can do now is start a brand new character.

No it doesn't because if the game is able to run without the mods it wont even know the mods exist and making a new save will no longer make the message appear.

What? Once a mod is used on a save file (and this applies to all Bethesda titles because of the way the Creation Engine works) it's data is permanently added to it. You can remove the data files of the mod (IE, uninstall it) but the mod's references and data that the save file saves will always contain that data whether the mod is there or not.

yeah, and for pretty obvious reasons which should have been 100% clear from my previous reply.

Ive literally never had problems with removing mods, and removing mods and making a new save after getting past the "Save Relies on Content no longer present" message never results in getting the message again. The save also doesnt "break eventually".

"100% clear from my previous reply." Youre telling OP to restart the game so no its not clear at all

Which is exactly what they should be doing once they've removed a mod (Unless it is purely texture related), so yes they should do that.

and there are thousands who have. This isn't the "comeback" statement you believe it is.

It will depending on the mods OP removed. Some will break it earlier than others due to the amount of data within the save file. Other mods may not seemingly affect the game, but there is still the risk of a broken unusable save due to broken references. Very few mods (and the vast majority of those comprise purely textures) are safe to remove mid game.

Beyond that, i think it's pretty clear your giving the OP the wrong advice....

Youre telling OP to start a new game because "Removing mods breaks the save" which isn't even true and even if it was you don't even know what mods hes using. Talk about wrong advice

Scripts remain running - and they will bork your game down the road.
