I'm just gonna not watch any YouTuber that treats it like canon but enjoy the show independently. They nailed the atmosphere and Walton Goggins was my favourite western actor since Hateful Eight.
Compare it to any other film adaptation of a game, they're all weak
It's canon, get over it. The only people that don't consider it canon are those that don't know the lore as well as they think they do lol
The show literally moves shady sands hundreds of miles to LA. And then somehow there's two vaults right in the middle of LA right next to the cathedral and also in the open that the master doesn't know about when his main goal is finding vaults to make smart super mutants.
And then shady sands is nuked before new Vegas takes place but not a single person in new Vegas mentions it, and in fact still talk about shady sands as the capital that's completely fine.
The makers of the show didn't even know the fallout lore.
Todd Howard came out in damage control about the shady sands things saying that "the fall of shady sands" was not it getting nuked the nuke came later. Right on the money with the first two though. There's even more crap like ghouls needing to take meds to not go feral, the whole vault tec asinine logic of "we are going to destroy 99% of the population to help capitalism, Mr house being completely different character, etc.
The only ones praising the show are ones that don't pay attention to anything and are just in it for the iconography. The show doesn't even respect 4's retcons lmao.
I'm pretty sure the creators even stated that the prydwen airship is not in the show its a different airship but if you look at the side you can see "prydwen". The show was a complete mess in terms of its writing and planning
I keep seeing this but I dont understand. The location of shady sands has always been between vaults 13 and 15 by the Nevada border, not in the freaking middle of LA.
The maps don't properly align in F1 and F2, but there's nothing in F2 that states that Shady Sands has moved, it's a simple map error, probably intentional so that the military base, vaults 13 and 15 and shady sands can exist in 2.
Even then, the fall of shady sands being before new Vegas makes no sense as NPCs in game regularly talk about the well developed capital of shady sands. It would be a pretty big deal if NCR capital fell during the time new Vegas took place.
Yeah a simple change from 2277 to 2281 would make it all fine but no Bethesda, or Amazon, can't do simple things right the first time and have to resort to damage control after the fact.
