Any one else crash more than ever with NVR?
A couple months ago I switched from using an ENB to NVR (because apparently ENBs are big scary no no's now) and I swear I've never had a more unstable NV before. I'm lucky to get more than 10 minutes in before it CTD's. I want it to work but it just refuses to.

No experience with NVR, think my laptop wouldn't like it, but ENB for 3/NV was never finished. That's why it was never recommended. I've been using Reshade nowadays, a lighter alternative that stil received updates.

I rarely ever had problems with ENB, might go back to it. But I like a lot of what NVR does (especially shadows) and I wish I didn't have these mystery problems

Its objectively broken for FNV and F3 and will cause problems, if not immediately then later.

This is blatantly untrue at least for Fallout 3. I had no instability in fallout 3 with ENB, textures, etc. In new vegas back when i used ENB I would get crash at nelis air base which always happened and was only real crash ENB cant cause a crash like that. I highly doubt ENB is a real cause of issues. It itself is a bit broken in terms of effects but i never noticed any impact on stability.

Using NVR my game crashes frequently like disabling enabling its effects can cause freezing/ctd.

Issues are complicated with dxvk, nvac etc floating around mods that make things better and worse.

Reshade is nothing compared to NVR or ENB. Its not really applicable. Also creates input lag that other mods dont.

All this crap just ruins the stark beauty of the wastes.

Stop it. Get some help.

I've crashed twice in my current playthrough. Not enough to warrant a complaint.

I'm playing Vanilla. I looked at the mods and was like, nah. The game runs fine without and is absolutely incredible.

The reshaders and other complete visual overhaul mods tend to just make the game look uncanny and weird imo. You can get some nice screenshots but it looks very uncanny valley in motion. Nowadays I just get some more slight visual enhancement mods for a more "vanilla plus" kind of look. Tends to perform a lot better too. At the end of the day F:NV is a game from 2010 that wasn't exactly cutting edge visually even back then, so you've just got to accept that it's going to look visually dated

Make nebulous claims enjoyer. ENB breaks nothing.

Generally i would say yes. I have played NV and fallout 3 mostly with ENB and with no issues outside fact that the detailed shadows shader bugs out, so therefor should be disabled. Only real visual issue is aliasing but dxvk which is advised to use in new vegas causes obvious visual artifacts with vegetation and hair. The bethesda community is of questionable intelligence.

Its like how people claim Fallout 3 is less stable but literally both games need fix mods. People following Viva New Vegas have major issues sometimes due to dxvk and driver issues combining to make new vegas unstable. Meanwhile fallout 3 doesnt feel stuttery with no dxvk with enb enabled.

With instability it could be so many things in new vegas, especially with mods. So many need special ini changes.

New vegas is better game in every way except programming, performance and stability.
