How do I help the NCR if I already got Cachino killed by Big Sal

I did the part where I found Cachino's journal or whatever the hell but I sold it to Big Sal for 200 caps, he then ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ shot Cachino infront of me. now I cant figure out how to help the NCR. I stole Troikes blackmail letter from the safe, helped Trioke with the shipment and brought it back to him. I dont have any saves where Cachino is alive, and im not getting any options to free Trioke from his contract with Big Sal like the wiki says. So how can I finish the "For the Republic, Part 2" quest???

I may have spoke too soon, I don't remember all the details of the quests. I was doing YES MAN and some Legion this playthrough. Today, Ceasar was pissed i killed Big Sal and Nero.

From the wiki, in regards to For The Republic Pt, 2.

If Cachino has already been killed, it may not be possible to complete this quest with positive reputation, because Nero often disappears from Gomorrah altogether. This prevents the assassination of both of the Omertas bosses, and requires one to finish How Little We Know by aiding Big Sal. This results in Strip Infamy, and one must lie to Colonel Moore about their plans.

So it sounds like I can just kill big sal make a break for the ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ door, lie to moore, and never go back into Gomorrah again?

Not exactly sure. I would still try to complete the quest for Big Sal, then go and lie about it to Moore.

I had actually done the who quest with the chlorine and the lost shipment. but when I talked to Sal I gained infamy on the strip so id rather avoid that.

(I went back to my oldest save, just after Cachino died)
