How do I get the Khans to join the NCR?
I've just finished the papa khan quest line but I can't figure out what I need to do to get him to join the NCR; he always wants to leave the legion but never join the republic. I've tried sneakily killing papa but then regis agros and he won't step up to lead the khan's. should i just tell the ncr they won't join?

You need to kill papa without being caught, meaning you need to kill him in a single hit. If you hit him and he survives, the Khans agro on you

Do I need a silenced weapon for that or will any heavy rifle do?

isn't there a quest where you can convince papa not to join the leigon? will that help, or does papa have to be gone?

I couldn't find any way to convince papa to join the ncr. or how to kill him with a gun. ended up just putting a grenade in his pocket. regis gets teleported to black mountain for some reason?

i think the only way to recruit it for the NCR its in another quest called For the Republic part II

I think it's better to let the Khans go.

How to convince the Khans go without killing Papa Khan:

Kill the caesar's ambassador spy or sneak to his room and find conspiracy evidence. Present said prove to papa khan. Papa khan kill caesar rep, papa khan agrees to "cease fire" with NCR IF you can persuade him.

Bingo. That's how I do it, I sneak in and swipe the evidence.
