After Cyberpunk I got a little numb to the bugs and crashes. First run was pretty good on a clean install, but god forbid out of chapter 1 the crashes become more frequent. There was a hotfix that helped but that's about it. Main quest for Crusaders was broken and even before chapter one my character kept dying before he could reach the end of the stairs so had to use tgm in consoles. The hotfix on the mod page is now an essential to play the mod even. Some quest markers lead to nowhere and the person simply isn't there and a few you could spend 4 hours walking in a circle without finding anything, even checking every single house in the area.
I think that's an "evil" choice; same thing with the Lizard sex, I mean if you pay attention to what you are doing... oh yeah and the Lizard quest does not have a good option, it's just morally gray quest. You end up helping noone, either way, basically Frontier in a nutshell... I think they wanted to make the whole mod as close to New Vegas endings as possible so it wasn't far fetched. There are very few good choices here and there and when you make them, the story makes you feel like a complete dumbass and no speech check is going to fix it unlike the base game.
Oh I agree. NCR ends in a catastrophic way. That doesn't make it any less a horror war story. I did expect more war with the Legion, but it is what it is. They had a tendacy towards imaginative torture each time I clashed with them. It's definitely not a good end. More like...the Death of Idealism. A Hell paved by good intentions lead aside by a snake. I am now doing the Crusaders. And honestly, I am probably going to enjoy it. Thats what mods are for. If it gets wild, Well, I have my buckle. I took the NCR route as a dedicated sniper. Now, I am a Sopher with a laser gatling gun. (Contradiction I know. i lost my sanity in the dark place). Legion will be what it is. If that involves being a slave owning warrior, well, I expect that of a Army of Slavers, which is and always will be what Caeser's Legion is. It's just less concealed, and you get into it. Despite the maker's opinion of trump supporters, at least the writing remained true to the Legion. I am happy with that. I will always remember being beat to pieces in this mod, tormented, tortured, and retribution soon after. When I was at Nuln's mercy, I was using the Psyker mod. Seeing what it was looking like after everything, It suddenly made me curious what the hell I did in there. Least the psyker mod gave me a excuse but I gotta wonder. The boss fights are something I NEVER thought I would face in a Fallout game. Nevermind New Vegas. And the Jank-Tank of the NCR is something to fall in love with. Yes! It's cringy. Yes! It's overblown. But I love it. Wanna know a secret about the NCR finish? More you explore, more Buds join you in the birdie.
I'm older than the internet. Let that sink in. My parents had an original Pong machine, when it was brand new
I had the original Atari, the Atari 800 and the Atari 2600XL (came with a cool book you could code in your own games with, I liked the skiing one)
I still have some 5.25" and 3.5" disks of things I loved (and a win 2.0, 3.1 suite of 3.5"'s)
I remember when I got my first computer before going off to military school and it had DUAL speed CD-ROM and le gasp 420MB (yes, megabytes) hard drive. I couldn't conceptualize ever filling up such a massive storage device. Ever.
Big problem? There's no digital record of any of that. They didn't exist back then (unless you count a SKU# listed somewhere in the financial records of a games/computer shop that no longer exists (i mean somewhere those records exist if they haven't been shredded and burned due to obsolescence by now)
Since there's no handy way to look up historical information do you just take a lot of history 'on faith' that it actually happened simply because you can't go look up what Sally said to Susie in class in 1865?
I do understand your hesitation to just blithely take anything anyone says on the internet as true (smart call that) however you're also extremely limiting yourself if this is how you honestly conduct your life.
