Can't Loot Mortimer/How Do You Get The Tuxedo Hat?

How do you get the Tuxedo Hat? I've tried pick-pocketing Mortimer when he's alive. I've tried killing him then looting him, but I can't loot him when he's dead. What works?

Its a unique hat that only he has which is supposed to be lootable but if it isnt for you then id say spawn it in with "Player.additem 001258C3 1" since theres no other way of obtaining it legit.

So if you run into any caravan trader, his guard and their pack brahman walking around near Novac and don't want them to die you can swap out their simple leather armor and their simple pistols or rifle for something better to give them more survivability and then let them continue on their way and probably days later you should run into them away still wearing and using whatever you gave them

If you want to give a random NPC a minigun you have to give them ammo for it too or else they won't use it and same goes for any other weapon. They need ammo for the weapon.

didn't know you couldn't loot his corpse, but the "proper" way is to convince him to leave and search for the one that left, if you went exploring before meeting him you might have found his love's corpse, and that option makes him leave too, and he gives it to you willingly. (Just FYI you already killed him and found a solution.)

I think you are talking about Oswald the Magnificent. Mortimer is at the White Pants Club.
