Can we agree that sticky trigger is awful?
Basically, New Vegas has a mechanic where guns have 2 fire modes. Full auto and single fire. The difference is is how you use them. Single fire shoots one bullet, then takes ages before you can use it again. Full auto will fire continuously, continuing to fire for a bit even when you stop firing yourself. The thing is, semi-auto weapons and full-auto weapons both use them, but full-auto weapons need to be held to fire continuously and semi-auto weapons need to be tapped over and over. Do this for me. Pick up a service rifle and shoot it once, wait 0.7 seconds, then pull the trigger again. Nothing happens. No bullets come out. There is a blank, what is best described as an "end-lag" period after the single fire. This makes both full-auto and semi-auto guns awful to use because there is an invisible period where you cannot use them. The delay is explained as simulating the sticky trigger of an underused and undermaintained firearm. It ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ sucks. Even if you understand how it works and how to play around it, it feels so annoying to do. There is no point in it. What the ♥♥♥♥ is the point of having a semi-auto weapon that is actually a full-auto weapon with a dumb control scheme? And worst of all, guns are not the end-all-be-all. EVERY WEAPON DOES THIS! I get it with swung weapons since the first swing sets you up for a follow up swing making rapid attacks faster than deliberate and spaced attacks, but with knives, saws, the thermic lance and your are fists, it makes no sense that you either have to mash the button to punch a guy without having to wait for Half Life 3 before you can punch again.

I love NV to death but this mechanic is just awful and I want ya'll, for 1 moment to drop this "NV is perfect, git gud or play something else" attitude and just admit that this is stupid. It wouldn't be calling NV bad. Calling this mechanic awful calls the rest of the game great.

Stewie's Tweaks now has a fix for fire queuing integrated.

Part of it also seems like you're running afoul of the vanilla animation system - weapons don't have individual animations (and animations control the timing to a large extent), they have per-type animations.

Part of the problem can also be solved by using modern kNVSE-based mods.

Already using both. Though, I have forgotten to use the option in Stewie tweaks.
Thanks nonetheless for the suggestions.
