Disabling DLC doesn't work?
I finally wanted to try the game after getting the Ultimate edition a while back on sale... But once I realized what Courrier's Stash did, I went and disabled it in the game properties on Steam. But it did nothing, whenever I launch a new game I still have all the items. Why is that? Is there a way to really disable this DLC? I don't want to mess with mods because I'll also play on SteamDeck through SteamOS.

EDIT: all the items that spawn are bugged and unusable, the DLC isn't installed but somehow it still load. I tried completely uninstalling the game and redownloading it (after making sure the DLC was disabled) and it still does the same thing.

Disabling DLC should do enough. You could also just drop all of the items tbh.

Okay so deleting the .nam files should work... I'll try that out.

Well I just tested it and weirdly, it adds all the items, but the items are bugged in game since there are no files. And yeah, I could drop them but I was wondering why such a basic feature (disabling DLC) actually didn't work as intended. Also I didn't want to have to check the full item list do know what to drop. I'd rather not have the item spawn.

You should probably just start a new game. Disabling mods mid-playthrough can do funny things.

You should not uninstall any DLC (or mod) on a save that had that content loaded if you want to be sure to avoid issues. The game is simply not designed for that.

Have you read my post? I clearly said "whenever I launch a new game".

Like the one above... I clearly mentionned I started a new game after disabling DLCs.

This worked, thanks. I still have to find how to delete those on SteamDeck but I'll figure this out.

Looking at the game's data, it seems that the contents for all four pre-order packs have been merged into the base game. All the scripts and quests that adds those items into player's inventory when they start a new game are not only present in each plugin files for pre-order packs, but on base FalloutNV.esm as well.

I have no idea why they did this, but oh well, it's Obsidian...

Yeah, feels like it. Deleting the .nam files for all packs worked though so at least, there's a way to bypass it.

They are not present in FalloutNV.esm. The records are injected, which is a technique that involves changing the form ID to appear as though it originates in a different master, but it doesn't change where the data is stored. It might have some funny side effects if you uninstall the plugins on a save in progress, though, which is a bad idea anyways.

I don't think this has anything to with that. It's exactly the same issue as reported by the person who wanted to uninstall GRA in the thread I linked, and GRA doesn't use this technique.
