Why no loading bench or hot plate at the Lucky 38?
If the Lucky 38 is set to be the main base for the player and they already thought to add a workbench, why not the other crafting stations? It's hard for me to see why they would consider adding only 1/3 crafting stations.

Probably why there are so damn many overhauls for the 38.

Because House is a horrible land lord, and, like all horrible land lords, hates tenants having hot plates.

JK, the hot plate wasn't in the base game, but rather added in Dead Money. Still doesn't explain the lack of loading bench, for which you may as well assume the first bit of my joke answer.

Would've been cool if the hot plate items could be picked up and used with a pot or something with the DLC. I get that a campfire makes no sense indoors but there are two stoves and NEITHER WORK. I can't imagine how play testing the L38 past player lvl 10 could've been done without noticing these things missing. Seems like a testing didn't get nearly enough time so that a holiday deadline was met. After killing Benny in the arena I'm still getting people telling me "He went that way!" Yes some unique reactions are to be had if done out of order but it's pretty under-scripted. TBH in a remake I'd value these small immersion breakers fixed more than updated visuals.

Because fallout isn't elder scrolls, and there's no such thing as a 'player base.' It's simply a central location where your NPC army gathers. The gun runners kiosk is a far superior player base.

When giving ED-E the order to "Terminate Companion Protocol," and select "Return Base," he goes to the L38. You can store your crap wherever, but companions don't go to elsewhere when you tell them to go home. You get the same three options for the others as well. Go to the L38, take a hike, or stay with me. The obvious implication is the the L38 is supposed to be the players hub, and it's missing pieces of equipment most people are going to look for at some point. I shouldn't need to travel to cook a steak if it's the place they are telling me to use as a home. Enjoy role playing as a hobo living next to a kiosk.

I do enjoy it.
>fast travel takes me straight to the kiosk.
>bin right in front to store all my stuff.
>companion terminal in case they get bugged.
>bench close by.
>8k money on the robot every 3 days.

Enjoy walking through several screen transitions to get to your 'base.'

For the food crafting: electric hot plates weren't added until the dlc so having a campfire in the suite wouldn't make sense.

For the reloading bench: who knows and it's stupid why there aren't any vanilla upgrades to include one.

Harper's Shack was intentionally made to be the perfect base.

Strictly speaking, the only true playerhome in vanilla is the Sink, and maybe the Novac Motel room. But the former has to be considering how OWB is designed.
Lucky 38 can work as is, but it wasn't made with it in mind.

Personally I only use Novac as my home base most of the time. Not only is it easy, and an early unlock, but it is near to the fast travel point, and has nearby crafting options. The Lucky 38 is just too much work.

Sheesh Kromo quit whining! Are you a child? Want Daddy to do it for you?
If you want stuff somewhere, then make it happen yourself! No mod necessary, no GECK or xEdit necessary. No need to post stuff like this when you have skills, just do it, and move on.

So let's get you some skills. Try standing in one of the rooms or by those non-working elevator doors, and 'player.placeatme 15361f' for your reloading bench and 'player.placeatme ##00c7dd' for your DLC electric hot plate on a table or counter? (my load order it's 0c)...

You can then adjust the positioning and rotation with getpos/setpos x/y/z and getangle/setangle x/y/z (I'm sure both spawned in at a weird angles so you at least need to 'setangle x 0; setangle y 0' for flat orientation, and maybe a getpos z then 'setpos z <-50 or so than what was displayed>', to put it that hotplate on a table and not under the table.

Well, there ya go, Daddy fixed it, so is there anything else you want to whine about? Maybe people's attitudes on forums, not catering to your various ignorances?

(you do know that's all sarcasm, right? I don't know you, why would i pick on you? And hopefully you learned something about the game, too. Rock on!) :radiationsymbol:

Continuing the theme of "Enjoy <thing>": Enjoy NPCs getting stuck because there is still a navmesh under your new workbench. :steammocking:
