Help? Glitch with fallout nv
One of my programs interrupted my game while playing fallout new vegas the program forced minimized my fallout nv game and now I can not get it back up, my fnv game looks like it was auto resized to look like a thin window bar like when this happens does anyone know how to fix it/resize it without quitting and re-launching?

My best guess is the alt tab bug, a side effect of playing the game in fullscreen mode. Alt tabbing can break any game in fullscreen mode. It's why windowed mode exists... That, or don't alt tab.

Not any game it never breaks my fallout 4 or skyrim or sse or any other game as for this bug I encountered not sure if it breaks the default fallout nv game I had this issue while running nvse_6_3_4 yes I always use mods that all require launching nvse to play fallout nv so this is the only game I encountered this issue all and every interruptions like this effects my fallout nv only and the only fix i know of is to task manager to force quit and re-launch nvse fallout nv.

Just because it doesn't break your game doesn't mean it won't break it for others. It's a known issue for fullscreen in DX11 and earlier versions. DX12 might have the bug fixed, but DX12 Ultimate definitely doesn't have it. If you want alt tab, it's usually best to switch to windowed mode in any game.

Vulkan should fully support fullscreen mode and alt tab without display issues and it should also be as fast as alt tabbing in windowed mode. Periodically updates to the API bring the bug back. DXVK can improve performance dramatically as well over the ancient DX9 FNV uses.

Along with all the other recommended fixes, give this a whirl and see if it helps. https://www.nexusmods.com/newvegas/mods/79299

Thanks and I've started over uninstalled/deleted all files and reinstalled trying out the TTW for the first time currently installing TTW taking all day big installation so tomorrow I'll get to play it.

Yeah, the TTW installer has to unpack like 8 GB of files then pack it all back up. A fast storage drive, plenty of memory, and throwing a lot of CPU cores at it can help, but it'll still eat up a decent chunk of time.

Anyways, good luck bro.

Hehe. Pretty sure it took like 3 hours for me, but I virtually installed both FO3 and FNV on my RAM. The output folder was virtually installed on my GPU's VRAM. I had a few episodes of Game of Thrones left to binge so it gave me an excuse to finish it.

Not everyone has so much memory to throw at things, but I don't care to watch a progress meter for half the day. Lol. Been there done that with XP one too many times years ago.

One final thing, one potential cause for the game freezing up after alt tabbing is the game is no longer loaded in memory for some reason. If you are running close to your max RAM then it could be pagefile tripping. Windows moving things to pagefile to free up space for whatever is the active tab. It could also be related to the many bugs that plague DX9/ FNV in particular. I recall a plugin that forces the game to stay loaded (might be the DXVK, I'd have to read it). There could be some consequences for this though, at least if you don't have plenty of memory to keep the game loaded at all times plus the OS and whatever other apps you are using.

I was following the only video installation guide on ttw site did everything that guy who made the video guide did my computer is not the best it's a old pc windows 10 besides already gives me issues and without any money to get a new pc or anything well I guess that is why it's taking long my pc is crap I have a new gaming tower but it's not compatible with the screen I have so I'll have to suffer until I am able to buy a new screen that works with it.
