- Lucky Shades (Best with the four-eyes trait, Can be matched with the beret)

- Stealth suit MK2 (Fully upgraded, only with OWB)

These are by far the best items for a sniper build. Make sure to boost Agility, Luck, and Perception with implants as well.
Ok, here are my SPECIAL stats from the build I am following:
S 6
P 6
E 8
C 1
I 4
A 8
L 10
Also, is wearing power armour in a sniper build bad?
Kinda, yes. The T-45 power armor gives -2 agility and your agility is already kinda low. Theres not really a need to wear power armor anyway.
I was thinking maybe the Remnants Power Armor with the +1 Strength, and it's not as bulky as the others.
But it looks sick.
I do, I've just never done a crit sniper build.
Bro, of course I know. I am just following this guide:

Added bonus. It means that when you walk into any casino, shortly before you use that 10 L to clean them out, you will look dam good doing it.
Thank you, but I was thinking about using another armour.
If I'm not expecting to get shot at, I look dam good.
But I would agree that there are far better options for a sniper character than power armor if we're talking practicality and stat boosts.
Ok, what are some recommended armor pieces then?
Leaning more to the early game.
Typically, hats over helms. While the latter could protect your head, the former has options that make it far easier to spot the enemies that would seek to harm it in the first place (though there are some exceptions).
I'd stick at the top of the recommended list however, the 1st Recon beret. You get it as a quest reward in Novac, adds to the perception but also the crit chance.
I don't suppose you took the Four Eyed trait at character creation? If you had then glasses become a recommended item for the +2 to P (and lucky shades are back on the menu as they now give a +3). If not, then you didn't need to read that.
The Sheriff's duster can be a decent early game option. Doesn't offer much (of any) protection, but the +5 to guns is a nice touch in the early game when stats have yet to reach their max.
There's not a great deal of medium or light armors that just scream "NEED!", before you could get your hands on the stealth suit.
Lonesome Road has a few interesting offerings and any that give a boost to stealth can help you avoid being found while you line up shots.
But mostly it comes down to a case of ways to lower overall character weight.
If you're trying to snipe then there's going to be a lot of trying to keep enemies at range, and moving about to find the best sniping spot. Both of which are easier when you don't have a big ol' suit of heavy armor on you. Even if some can boost STR.
That said, if you think it looks cool then that is that line of logic firmly trumped as far as I'm concerned.
