nightskin in basement quest crash fix

everytime I go to the rocket facility and enter the basement to kill the nightskin for the novac quest I crash does anyone know how to fix this.

Get rid of any mods that are causing it. We need a modlist.

I dont have any mods I tried again and I managed to get through but I randomly crashed an hour ago

I tried going back in the game and was met with infinite loading so I had to restart my pc is this a common issue?

Yes. If you get the infinite loading just start a new game then load your old save from there.

We’re you stacking quick/auto saves, your save is probably corrupt. That’s usually the outcome in vanilla if you use them too many times without loading from a hard save.

I do save a lot when playing the game should I delete some saves when I get into the main menu. Also I always press continue when in the main menu instead of picking a save so should I load into hard saves always now?

Oh, I just mean like don't quicksave, load that quicksave, and then quicksave again on top of it over and over. it can cause data to be dropped/corrupted over time, which leads to really weird gamebreaking bugs happening, if not causing instant CTDs outright.

I am not sure if I fixed it or not but I had around 50 saves I deleted most of them until I had 3 saves then I just loaded into an auto save and played I have not experienced any infinite loading or crashes maybe that fixed it I will have to play again to make sure though.
