This is a 6 at best in comparison to other cRPG that Obsidian traditionally made and tries to emulate on this.
Play better (real) RPG made by Obsidian: Pillars of Eternity 1 & 2.
Of course you're not.

What I think of the game Outer Worlds 2:

What it was: Another Bethesda Copy-Paste Fallout game but space themed
Outer worlds was so painfully mediocre. I got 90% done and never finished. Tried a new game recently and basically quit halfway through the first planet.
Don't know what it is about it, while it's probably the most polished Obsidian game, I just can't do it.
However, for those who enjoy his style of writing, the game is a treat.
But the fact remains, the stone has been set, TOW is a fantastic setting begging for fantastic writer to expand the world.
mediocre at best.
The Glory days of Obsidian are forever over, because the "Obsidian people" left a long time ago.
Outer mediocre is as a RPG as skyrim is, shallow.
Also, it's not surprising that it doesn't excite non-RPG player. The game is first and foremost an RPG, not just FPS with good writing like New Vegas.
Here's another kicker: Souls-game are not RPG.
You should. Pretty much every proper RPG are set on Medieval-like setting.
