primm slim is hostile towards me for some reason

this is my first playthrough in fallout new vegas and I decided to make primm slim the new sheriff. A while later after I had left primm I returned and primm slim was fighting a convict, so I shot the convict but now primm slim is constantle hostile with the red health bar and he keeps on facing me. I've tried waiting 72 hours but that does nothing. Is it a glitch? should I just kill him? what should I do?

Welcome to new vegas dude xD , i mean this game is awesome but also full of bugs as fk , there are different ways to put a sheriff in primm , just kill him and choose another option. ;)

Already picked him as sheriff

I fixed this by killing him and resurrecting him with console commands:)
