Does Honest Hearts suck or am I just a noob
I'm a new player to FNV, not even made it to the strip yet, and thought I'd go to Zion Valley to get some "easy" money and XP before continuing the main quest. Dumb idea because it's a *NIGHTMARE* to navigate like I'll have bears spawning at random right in front of me and you can't fast travel anywhere without being ambushed by an entourage of White Legs with dogs.

Just wanted to see if this was a skill issue or a game issue 💀 as while you get enemies in Nevada they feel wayyy more spaced out and I don't get pissed off dealing with them.

HH isn't really good for loot or xp, it's fairly linear and mostly played for the story and atmosphere. The constant ambushes by White Legs is to convey how Zion is being invaded and on the brink of destruction by them.

As for it being bad to navigate, I can't really say because I've played through it so many times it's not an issue for me, but I don't remember ever having too much of an issue with it.
Honest Hearts was overrated. Kill some bruhs there, pop some speed here, and then you're done with the DLC. I always rush through it. But The enemies there are plenty tougher, you'll get Yao Guai, Green Geckoes which have a ranged attack, and Wild Bighorner, which if you never went to the ranch south of Red Rock Canyon or the woods around Jacobsville, you wouldn't know how territorial they are.
Personally, I prefer either Dead Money (underrated, but I can see how it could be tedious, it's a breeze with that one perk that gives you thin red paste and blood sausage in the form of loot on killed enemies) or Old World Blues.

Hi. From your types perhaps you went in too early? Used to do it at level 8 but not anymore. Now I'll bring tons of 12.7 mm ammo & Boone's reward beret. Yeah those YO YO monsters & Giant Green Gheckos are pita especially when they can spawn from cliff walls. Hell even the scorpions spawn from it or underground. They can also detect you 2 klicks away. That is the drawback for that DLC for me.

If you can snag a sniper rifle ( from Mc Carran Camp ) + a silencer mod you're good with the Survivalist rifle. Gotta make some caps first. It does cost a bundle for the mod. Don't forget to search for the energy pistol that paralyses on critical over there. That sniper rifle requires 75 guns skill & 6 STR. The Tommy gun equivalent in the DLC also requires 75 guns. If for some reason you can't get the rifle then Ratslayer will do if you can take it. Tough fight man. Not as effective as the former. Plus you should be able to make healing poultices when there. It will help a lot. Survival 30 if not mistaken. The main ingredient to make it can be found in abundance there. Good trade item too. Plus it regrows after a bit. Good luck.

then its a skill issue cuz recommended level is 10
it's the easiest of all the dlcs, you probably just went in too early.

thankfully it's quite short so you should be able to quickly get through the main story and get back to the mojave

I've done honest hearts at level 2 and it was still easy. The only dlc that you can get stuck going in too early is owb, where everyone are bullet sponges and constantly spawning.

The Lobotomites with brush guns are by far the most broken enemies in the game

Yeah def a skill issue. But it's understandable as you're new.

I haven't played in a looooooooong time, but I remember getting so bored with Honest Hearts that I reloaded an old save before the DLC. Never touched it again.

Old World Blues is godtier
Dead Money is... interesting
Lonesome Road was pretty good
Honest Hearts was boring as ♥♥♥♥

That said: I pre-ordered NV and had finished nearly all of the base game content when the DLC was released. I was max level with end-game weapons/armor, so I had very little trouble with them. I'm also a compulsive min-maxer, so my character was OP as ♥♥♥♥.

NGL i think all the DLC for new vegas suck.

Big MTN is boring.
Honest hearts is probably the best but still can be dull.
Sierra Madre REALLY sucks because of the collar smoke mines and everything else and the story is crap.
And the lonesome road is also boring and way to much dialogue ive never read dialogue from beginning to end i just speedrun it after grabbing the riot gear.

I cant believe im saying this but id rather play the frontier than any of the DLCs its more fun.

It's easy, but it does suck as a dlc overall. The only thing that doesn't suck about it, is that Joshua Graham is a good character. Without him,the dlc is ♥♥♥♥..
