Mods don't work after game update
Few weeks ago i had to update my game according to steam which i don't understand, what is there to update about this ancient game? Anyway that's not the problem, the problem is that after doing so my mods from nexus wont launch anymore with the game. It constantly gives me an error code from steam directly (application load error 5:0000065434) I can play the game, just not with my mods. Anyone know how to fix it? Thanks.

There were no updates, what Mod manager are you using?

And never mind about the game working, it now doesn't work either

NMM is extremely broken and outdated, it constantly deletes mod files and doesn't copy over larger mods correctly at all, and it's even worse for FNV. The bug you're getting is pretty common with NMM(it's a steam error, but in this case it's ultimately caused by NMM) when you have the game installed on a separate drive than your steam installation. There's really no simple way fix it besides keeping NV, steam, and NMM all on your main drive, but even if you do, there's a dozen other things NMM will screw up even if it's not easily noticeable.

I would highly recommend just starting over following this guide, and using MO2 instead.

Also, it might seem like a lot of work, but VNV is actually extremely easy to follow, and once installed, you'll have an infinitely better time with MO2 over the countless headaches caused by NMM. Not to mention how much better the mods the guide recommends make the game play.

NMM hard edits the game folder, which means everything breaks if Steam decides to validate files (which is likely what happened to you).

Switch to MO2 (preferred) or Vortex.
