Is there an easy way to change .esp's master file name?
This file, MMAWOP Patch.esp, is dependent on A World of Pain Revised.esm.
I want it to depend on AWorldOfPain(Preview).esm.

"Don't do that, your fnv will splode"

I know, but I'm desperate, so I'm at least going to just try it. The revised esm
is based on the former, so I don't see why this patch shouldn't work if I can
somehow get this last step to switch the master file. I cannot simply change
the name of the latter because my current save game is using the former.

Sorry if it sounds confusing. TLDR the first 2 sentences of this post.

Please don't tell me the "MM" in MMAWOP Patch.esp stands for Mission Mojave...

No, it's more mojave. It fills in neglected base areas with more stuff. I had to
ditch normal awop for a world of less pain just so I could use it, and it wants
xLODGen as well so I'm doing that right now.

Ok that's a huge relief. Almost had a heart attack.

Anyway, could you post the links to the World of Pain esms and esps mod pages? There's so many versions of AWOP I need to see the files.

What I'm attempting to do is change the file headers thru FNVEdit. I've done it for a small amount of mods but really just to mess with stuff. But I never bothered with any AWOP stuff.

What's wrong with "Mission Mojave" (I don't know what it is)?

Old mod that lost it's recommendation nearly a decade ago. It was essentially the major bug fix mod before YUP (Yukichigai Unofficial Patch) came out. It broke more than it fixed and caused all sorts of headaches back in the day because newbies to modding would see it on an outdated mod guide and install it without thinking. I still catch some newbies trying to use it but thankfully it's very rare now.

this is the real awop

a world of less pain, someone edited awop to be more lore friendly

I already switched the mmawop patch master by making a fake esm

Oh, look xLODGen is done and it only took 33:21 time. Time to test.

@Doggy Friend
Mission mojave is an unofficial patch. I had crashing, so never used it again
Just follow viva new vegas and use dvxk and fnv should work and be smooth

You can try changing the file headers for the esp with FNVEdit. The newer versions of FNVEdit don't allow file header editing but the older ones do. Look for version 3.2.1 on the nexus. It's what I use for smaller mod conflicts and editing. There might be a way to do it with the GECK as well but I haven't used it in that way.

No promises however. Adding esms to the master lists for an esp can cause all such of issues. If any, and I mean any, form ids are the same between the esms and esps, you will find that the esp changes that esm id. You would need to reinstall the mods and change any and all form ids for the mod, which is the hassle.

Idk why you're choosing to use the older AWOP over the revised, but if there is something you don't like about the revised version I would recommend you change it thru the GECK or FNVEdit instead of potentially breaking your save file or game in general by change mod masters.

Holy sh❤️t from hell it worked.

This proves it's possible to name switch awop and a world of less pain just
so I can continue with my save. There's only one problem: I have less weight
ALL the awop mk II and III weapons are gone because the author removed
them, presumably. And that xLODGen zip was 600+ mb. But I can see far

Ty for reading!

@Vex Hilarius
I switched because more mojave is only compatible with a world of less pain
awop does not add much to exteriors and I think the base mojave is so boring
AND I just didn't want to start a new game but use this save

Also using mojave raiders and mojave wildlife for more placed spawns

Just keep in mind that things can be broken beyond repair despite appearing to work.

Renaming the patch isn't going to do anything useful - just don't use a patch at all, there's far less risk that way.

Chances are that most of the things in that patch literally won't do anything because the base mod it's meant to patch is a completely rebuilt ESM. Again, you may as well just not use *any* patch as use the wrong patch.

Just patch it yourself - it would have taken less time to do that in xEdit than it took to post this thread and wait for responses.
