I can tell right away the guide is bs. It recommends using nexus mod manager and tells you vortex sucks, but the reality is that nexus mod manager was nexus old ♥♥♥♥♥♥ one and the guy who made it made vortex as a new better version of nexus mod manager that doesn't suck. That right there tells you the guide author doesn't know ♥♥♥♥.

I recently reinstalled an modded the game following Viva New Vegas Guide, like 3 weeks ago... It works perfectly and i added several more mods of my choice. Use Mod Organizer 2. The guide explais everything you need from the basis.

You have to git gud to use nmm. It works 4 me.
A lot of good tips here youtube.com/watch?v=Cypqage_Pdk
With modding you have to git gud BUT modding Fallout New Vegas will make you gud because Fallout New Vegas is the MOST difficult game to get a stable game that's is modded on the Planet=In my opinion; this being spoken with 50% ignorance.

Using nmm, you have to figure it out yourself, there's no guide I know of. Its not that hard if you have some basic knowledge.

Why would you still use NMM or Vortex in 2023? These are pretty much depreciated and a bother to use. I mean last I used FOMM or NMM was like 10 years ago.

The problem with them is that they often screw up and also when you installed something wrong or in a wrong order, your whole mod setup is done for and you can do it from the beginning. Mod Organizer has no such problems and is the way to mod nowadays. Might need a while to get used to it but once you did, its so much better than old mod managers. Viva New Vegas guide also explains everything that you need to know.

I'll explain why I use it.......In all honesty, I don't even need a mod manager for FNV because you can Tick-off mods in the Start Menu.....but I use it because Its faster to uninstall using nmm than doing it manually. Its much faster than manual install.
I've Been using Nmm for over a Decade- I use it for Skyrim, Fo4, Fo3 etc. I'm used to it.
I don't have any troubles using nmm because most mods are simple. You can check what's in the mod before you download it. Nmm doesn't screw up very often even on more complicated mods.
Its easy to check if the mod installed properly. Check file contents-make sure the contents are in the right place.
Nmm doesn't require any online connection or to be left on.
Nmm is super light weight.
Quite often if a mod is too complex, I don't use them, but not always.
I do the load order manually, because I'm good at it.

srry, I do the load order with Nmm, but I adjust it manually.
