Why does nightskin attack after you agree to help Davidson? Is there any lore reason? Or they are just dumb?

The Nightkin attack the player because they are suffering from a psychological condition called Stealth Boy Addiction. They will not listen and only wants to feed their addiction so you have to crouch and have at least a decent amount of agility to not kill every single one of them and crawl your way out and help both Davidson and the Ghouls that want to go to space.
