If it's the Robot Compliance Test, you need to deactivate the robots fully to pass.
Light step makes the proximity sensors useless, and it might take you a bit. You can learn the routing for the robots and shut them down fairly easy with trial and error.
It's a little hard to explain it as it's become almost muscle memory after so many years of playing NV.
Just take time and learn the placements of everything, or even watch a video if you really get desperate for help with locating things.

Link to the wiki which should hopefully help you.

The motion detectors are about landmine sized, and they deactivate like landmines. They're placed in just evil spots. Unlike landmines, if you back away, they don't go off. You can triangulate their location by ear this way without even having to abuse quicksaves. Or you can ruin a run on purpose in order to scout out the locations of all the motion detectors.

How high is your sneak? You want good sneak in order to get up behind the robots and get close enough to deactivate them. If you don't have good enough sneak, you'll probably have to use a stealth boy or two. Even if you have good sneak, just burning the stealth boy lets you complete the challenge much, much faster, what with being able to deactivate robots from the front.

What mods do you have installed? I can do some googling to try and help find a solution for you.
Also no-clip won't stop the detection, tdetect would be the command to stop AI from noticing you at all.
