Either way, we clearly know that if they done it, it would just be Fallout NV remade in whatever the newest version of the engine is at the time, be it Starfield or TES6. It's how SSE was done and how Skyblivion etc are being done by the community.
When it finally comes out in another 10 years (assuming it doesn't get abandoned), you'll finally be able to play a base game new Vegas with gutted RPG elements and no DLC or mods. Can't wait!
As for cut content, that would be nice, but there's plenty of mods that do that already.
That Fallout 4 New Vegas remake is interesting but it's already soured by 4's god awful art style and even if it manages to make everyone happy in the future there's no way it's being finished by the end of the decade and like most of these mods it will be abandoned.
Honestly the only point I see if remasters is to rerelease the game on new platforms, that's all I really see it for.
For example I just got the Metroid Prime remaster for Nintendo switch, and honestly I've wanted it for awhile - I don't care about modern graphics or qol improvements, I just wanted to play the game again and didn't have a GameCube or the game
Personally I only care about HUD textures when it comes to remasters. Keep the graphics and gameplay the same for the most part. I juts hate playing a game that has a HUD made for 4:3 with low textures. It took me until last year to realise what the icons on the map for San Andreas were because I used a mod that upscaled them.
All those goals are easily achievable with about 10 minutes worth of modding.
Take a look at Bethesda games - is there any indication that they put any more time into making new releases stable and performant? No, it's always fixed by modders, for all of their games.
