Why is this mission so glitched and why the developers dont fix it?

This mission has literally made my game unplayable because I can't complete it

You don't want to do this kid. Besides, just Google Beyond the Beef glitch. Check the bugs section. Simple.

The only "fix" is restarting the game or have luck and have an old save close to that mission.

Right click the game in your inventory, click properties, click local files, click delete local game content.

Do not reinstall. Walk away quietly and no one gets hurt.

That is not what it says. If you had exercised 90 seconds worth of Googling, involving clicking the very first link that comes up and scrolling to the section titled "Bugs", you would have seen your issue listed second in the section, along with a simple remedy. Instead, you decided to spend your evening mashing out angry words on the intertubes. Good work.

Actually I spend 3 hours trying to fix it, using every "fix" I found in google, but It just doesnt work.

On topic, your "moveto" or the one that forces him to follow you doesnt work.

Because the problem is that the father just doesnt "see" him when he is close, so a new dialogue doesnt appear

EDIT: You can lead me to the water, but that water is radioactive and infected ;)

Isn't this an optional quest ? I had no problems with it but remember that there was a Farmer outside who wanted Gunderson "dealt with". Why not just kill everyone in the Casino and tell the Farmer outside, "Dealt with".

If Ted cannot follow you (you enter a different room and he does not follow) simply go to the room where his father is and type the following into the console: prid 0010d4f0 and hit enter. Then type moveto player and Ted will appear.

Or type the following into the console: set "0010d2c6".bTedFollowing to 1 and hit enter.

I'm not worried, nor am I particularly concerned about your state of mind. Rather, I am an indifferent passerby giving some free advice. And it is a great game; you're just having a problem with it right now. But that is immaterial to our line of discourse.

I have never suggested the use of the moveto command, nor is this the recommended remedy from the bugs section. I have no idea where you are getting this from. Ted Gunderson is stuck in combat mode, which is why he is not following your or triggering dialogue with his father. You need to reset him.

Ted Gunderson may become stuck in combat mode, and will not follow you through area transitions. To correct, wait one hour or fast travel to The Strip North Gate, Ted should appear shortly. When re-entering the Strip, be cautious as Ted does not have a passport and will be shot by security if you do not make it to the gate fast enough. Taking the monorail from Camp McCarran will also work. Alternatively, if you do not want to risk Ted dying, you can slowly and carefully walk into him, pushing him towards Heck. This is assuming you do not have to travel through any doors. You can also use the 'resurrect' command on him from the console if you're playing the PC version, and it will reset him. Waiting two to three hours on the PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 also works. Also, if you have a full party, dismissing your humanoid companion on the spot, causes him to act normally (Tested on PC)

If this does not work then you unfortunately have no alternative but to load a previous save. No doubt we will hear of it in painful detail.
