Screen flickering on start-up

Anytime I try to play this, the screen just flickers between black and the actual game. Any fixes to this?

have you set the resolution to match your monitors native resolution?

Thanks again, those threads helped a lot. I just had to change the compatibility of the game from Windows 7 to 8. Fixed the problem!

I believe it is a monitor/resolution thing. I have the same issue with some games when I plug my laptop into my TV.
