Fallout New Vegas not launching through Vortex.

Hello all. Recently downloaded the NVSE (not the one from Nexus) for New Vegas. Downloaded the 4GB patch, all that. Downloaded my mods. Realized there were two versions of NVSE (the aforementioned one on Nexus) and downloaded that too.

However, once I was done, I tried launching from Vortex only to have it minimize in a black screen and not go to the main menu. After searching some stuff up, I deleted the NVSE I got from Nexus and now it won't start at all. Not sure if I'm having a plugin issue or just something else. All I know is I don't know how to get this working. Any and all help is appreciated.

you need to launch from nvse

Which one? When I tried to launch through the Vortex one it did the same thing. And when I try looking through files to find NVSE (the one off the website), I get all the other files except the launcher

you should have the NVSE launcher in your files if you dont you might have installed it incorrectly, Its been a while since I've done it but I never did it through vortex so im not sure how that works

Step 2: Follow Viva New Vegas[vivanewvegas.github.io]. Pay special attention to the Mods to Avoid appendix and the link to the Performance Guide.

Would you recommend just using it through something like MO2 instead?

The guide indicates MO2, so yes, that is what I would recommend.

Follow it. I'm not saying that to be a ♥♥♥♥, but because it's been fine tuned over multiple years by multiple experienced people to be a seamless and functional experience.

Thanks, I'm very new to PC gaming as a whole so this is very helpful.
